One of my favorite memories of my kids when they were younger, was when the ice cream truck would come to our neighborhood, and they would run outside with the biggest smiles on their faces.
They would look at the pictures on the side of the truck in deep concentration to see what popsicle they wanted that day. It was a part of my child hood too.

Tips For Making Adult Popsicles
- Alcohol has a lower freezing point than fruit juice and other pop ingredients. Alcohol content must be lower than the juice so the popsicle will freeze. Keep the alcohol to under 20%. This is about 1 1/2 ounces (1 shot) of alcohol in every cup of fruit juice.
- Popsicles mixed with alcohol will have a softer texture than non-alcoholic popsicles.
- An ice pop mold is the easiest way to make popsicles and they are inexpensive.
- Freeze pop bags are also inexpensive and easy to work with. These would be ideal for a large party or barbecue. You could make up a large batch in no time.
- If you are looking for something to use that you already have at home, use disposable paper cups. Once frozen, tear away the cup and enjoy the pop. They work great and are super cheap.
- The time it takes for popsicles to freeze varies with the recipe, amount of alcohol, and your freezer. I recommend allowing them to freeze overnight.
- If there are children around, be sure to label the adult popsicles so they don’t have access to them.
- Boozy popsicles kept in the freezer will have a shelf life similar to regular popsicles, which is 6 months, though it’s doubtful they will last that long!
